Dr Norman Chorn is an authority in the area of Strategic Management, with particular emphasis in the improvement of organisation effectiveness. He has specialist skills in the diagnosis and management of organisation culture and has developed unique approaches for the design and development of organisations, and the management of cultural change.

As a former Director at the Centre for Corporate Strategy, he pioneered the development of a range of approaches to strategically align organisations with their environments and to improve organisation effectiveness. These have been used extensively with both public sector enterprises in Australia and overseas.

Norman has consulted extensively in Australia to medium and large organisations in the Public and Private sectors across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing and construction, IT, the primary sector, energy and utilities, pharmaceuticals, retail and supply chain management, and Defence. During this time he lectured at the Graduate School of Management at both Melbourne University and Sydney University.

Before coming to Australia, Norman was a lecturer and management consultant at the Graduate School of Business, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. Prior to this he held senior management positions with Chloride Ltd.

Throughout his career Norman has published numerous articles and chapters in the areas of strategic management and organisation development and has been invited to present papers at international conferences, including the International Strategic Management Association.

Norman's academic qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (Sociology, Economics) University of Cape Town, Higher Diploma in Personnel Management, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, Master of Business Administration, University of Witwatersrand, Doctor of Philosophy (Business Administration), University of Witwatersrand.
