Welcome to the OpenBook Scenarios project
This exciting and wide-ranging project is designed to engage the Australian pre-tertiary teaching profession in exploration of possible schooling futures and their implications for quality teaching and school leadership.
An underlying belief in the design of this Teaching Australia project, being conducted on their behalf by the Neville Freeman Agency, is that practising teachers and principals are ideally positioned to use their teaching knowledge, experience and commitment to the process of scenario building through which we will generate plausible, yet relevant, future scenarios for schooling.
Our time frame is quite long - out to the year 2030 - yet as participants work through the process they will be undertaking a stimulating learning journey which may well change their perceptions of what is possible, or likely, for the profession. There are a number of activities which will involve principals, teachers and students and these may be found in the ACTIVITIES link on the left-hand side. The core activity, and the one which involves the greatest commitment, revolves around the Scenario Building Team. To apply to be part of this steam, kindly submit a paragraph of up to 200 words telling us why you are passionate about the future and why you would like to be part of this team. It would help with later team-building if you included a brief biography and a digital photograph of you.
